PRENATAL CYTOGENETIC DIAGNOSIS BY ARRAY-BASED COPY NUMBER ANALYSIS

Columbia University is currently coordinating a multi-centered research project sponsored by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD.) Participants are being recruited from many prenatal centers across the country. Participants are receiving prenatal research testing in addition to their clinical testing.

This research test, called a microarray analysis, can provide additional information about the genetics of a pregnancy. The microarray test can detect missing or extra pieces of DNA that are too small to be seen by the standard clinical testing. The results of this test are reported to patients and all research testing is done at no cost to the patient. If you wish to learn more information about this research study, please refer to the appropriate brochure. (There is one created specifically for patients and one specifically for physicians and/or genetic counselors.)
